The Funky Ferndale Art Fair and DIY Street Fair take our creative downtown to the next level. They combine to bring national juried artists and local creative entrepreneurs in one downtown on one weekend.

What is Funky Art?  Funky Ferndale Art Fair Coordinator Mark Loeb explains that it’s “art that doesn’t just sit there and look pretty. Sure we have traditional paintings but the focus of this show is on work you may not see at other events.” The Funky Ferndale Art Fair will feature over 100 juried artists from all over the U.S. and local foods. Kids and community members will be invited to create their own artwork to take home with them. While in an effort to help out local area non-profits, a Funky Fundraiser will be raising money for a variety of charities with the new “Speed Painting” section.  Artists will represent charities in creating a painting in under ten minutes.  Audience members will bid on work from multiple artists as it is being created.  The artist raising the most money goes on to the next round.  All bid money goes to charity. Loeb says, "People may be able to get some amazing work for bargain prices and donate to their favorite charity at the same time.”

While the DIY Street Fair will feature over 70 creative entrepreneurs setting the example of how to "do it yourself". It will also feature local restaurants, 14 micro-breweries, a farmers market, kids zone of fun activities and over 30 local live music acts.
